MEIARK Scanner accounts

You can create an account to use the MEIARK Scanner software. For that we store the name or store name you give us, your email address and a hashed password — your password itself is never stored in plain text. If you connect your eBay account, we store the eBay authorisation tokens needed to list cards on your behalf, and those listings go to eBay under eBay's own terms. Scanner API keys are stored hashed, like passwords. When you sign in, the site sets a strictly necessary session cookie so it knows who you are; it is not used for advertising or analytics.

Cards you scan

Scans you upload, and the card details you add to them, are stored in your account so MEIARK can identify, price and list your cards. Identifying a card can send a scan image, or text read from it, to an AI service provider to read the card.

You can delete a batch, and the scans in it, from your account at any time. To delete the account itself, email support@meiark.com.

Launch-notification requests

If you submit the launch form and tick its permission box, we save your email address, the request time, which page you sent it from, the version of the consent wording and your request status. The list is stored with our hosting, database and storage providers, not in your browser. We use it for MEIARK launch notices, including our planned Kickstarter launch, not unrelated promotions. A successful on-page confirmation means your request was saved; it does not mean an email was sent or that ownership of the address has been verified. Only enter an address you control.

We may transfer the launch list and its consent records to an email-delivery provider to send the notices you requested. Launch emails will identify MEIARK and include a way to unsubscribe. You can also withdraw your request now by emailing support@meiark.com. Browsing the site and sending an ordinary support email do not subscribe you.

To limit automated abuse, requests to the form are rate-limited. The form uses a short-lived, hourly-changing hash derived from the connecting IP address and an attempt count. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the launch list or its rate-limit table. Expired rate-limit entries are removed when a subsequent valid form request is processed. Hosting and security providers may separately process technical information as described below.

Information handled by this site

• Messages you choose to send. Email links open your own email application. If you send a message, we receive your email address, any name you provide, its contents and attachments. Please do not send payment information, identification documents or other sensitive information.
• Technical information. Hosting, content delivery and security providers process information such as IP addresses, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, referrers and security signals to deliver and protect the website.

The site has no checkout and no payment form. Its application code does not use advertising pixels, behavioral analytics, local storage or session storage. The film and images are served from this site rather than a social-media video player.

How information is used

Information is used to deliver and secure the site, provide the account and Scanner features you use, respond to inquiries, handle requests, and provide a launch notice if you explicitly ask for one. Sending a support inquiry is not a request for unrelated promotional messages. You can withdraw a launch-notice request by emailing us.

Providing a name, message or launch-notice request is voluntary. You can browse without sending us a message. Where a legal basis is required, ordinary site delivery, security and inquiry handling are based on legitimate interests in operating a safe site and responding to people who contact us; a requested launch notice is based on your consent. Consent can be withdrawn without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Providers and disclosures

Service providers involved in hosting, storage, content delivery, security, AI card reading and email handling may process information needed for their services. The website runs on our hosting, database and storage providers. Email communications pass through email service providers. We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful process or to protect against abuse. The website does not implement the sale of visitor data, advertising-audience sharing or cross-site targeted advertising.

Cookies and browser signals

The only cookie MEIARK sets itself is the strictly necessary sign-in session cookie, and only when you sign in. Cloudflare may use security cookies and checks. See our Cookie Notice. The application does not vary its behavior in response to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals; it does not implement behavioral advertising or sale/sharing opt-ins to toggle. This does not remove any rights you may have under applicable law.

Retention and security

Account data, and the scans and card details stored with it, are kept while your account is open, unless you delete a batch or ask us to close the account sooner. Launch requests are kept while needed to deliver the requested launch notices, unless you withdraw sooner. We may retain limited consent or suppression records as needed to respect opt-outs and meet legal obligations. Correspondence is kept as needed to answer inquiries and maintain necessary business records. Technical records and security cookies are governed by the relevant provider settings and retention practices. We use HTTPS and restrict access to the subscriber list, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Contact us to request deletion or clarification about a particular record.

Your choices and requests

You may ask to access, correct or delete information you supplied, or withdraw a launch-notice request, by emailing support@meiark.com. We may need proportionate information to verify a request. Depending on your location and which laws apply, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, receive a copy of data, appeal a decision or complain to a regulator. Requests will be handled under applicable law; some records may need to be retained for legal or security reasons.

You do not need an account to make a request. Use “Privacy request” or “Stop launch notices” in your subject line if helpful. We do not use the website to make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Children and international visitors

The site presents a collector-supply brand and is not designed to solicit personal information from children under 13. Please do not send us personal information about a child. If you believe such information was sent, contact us so we can review and address it. Hosting and email providers may process information in the United States and other locations. This notice is not a statement that the site targets or satisfies every jurisdiction's requirements.

Changes

We will update this notice as the website and its data practices change, including before introducing checkout, optional tracking or additional marketing services. The revision date appears above. Any notice or consent required by applicable law will be addressed when practices change.
